Medicare Supplement Plans For Seniors
Sometimes when I hear the word insurance, it can throw me into a rage. Trying to receive quotes on items such as renters insurance or Florida health insurance is a task that I don’t even look forward to. Perhaps it’s because I make it far more difficult than it needs to be. Granted, the Internet has made it easier to deal with this particular subject but still the premium rates are definitely what keep me up at night. I wish there was a little insurance genie that could take care of all of the quotes that I need to gather with regard to our insurance requirements. Since that’s never going to happen I need to hit this task had on and just plow forward to get the information that I need so that my husband and I can make the best decisions for our insurance needs.
I did find that finding cheap home insurance online was very easy to do. I was able to look into insurance from three different carriers and compare them side-by-side so that we could make a decision on which plan would best fit our budget. Currently I am in the process of trying to find affordable health insurance coverage for me and my family at a rate that we can afford. Medical costs have skyrocketed so the option of going without health insurance coverage definitely is not viable. After looking into health insurance I have found a couple of companies that offer an HSA which is a health savings account. When we pay the premiums into this account on a monthly basis we are eligible to receive those premiums back at the end of the fiscal year if we have not had to seek medical treatment. In addition to finding our health insurance online I was able to help my parents with their Medicare advantage comparisons, which are Medicare supplemental plans for seniors in their retirement years.
Traditional Medicare helps with some of the cost for seniors age 65 or older they are in need of supplement plans as well. I learned that Medicare covers only 80% of hospitalizations, doctor visits and some other services and procedures leaving my parents with the remaining 20%. After I called 1-800-MEDIGAP I had all of the information I needed to be able to help my parents make a decision with regard to their supplemental insurance. They were able to pick a plan that fit into their budget.
